Angela received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Walden University in 2019 and is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She brings a background of work from outpatient and residential treatment settings treating adults, children and adolescents with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and serious mental illness. Prior to obtaining her advanced degree, her nursing career spanned areas of hospice and community health, acute care, pediatric and adult intensive care. In these areas, she recognized the impact of psychosocial and mental health toward a patient’s risks for illness and injury, and their level of resiliency throughout major traumatic events and recovery. She approaches psychiatric treatment holistically, utilizing a strength-based approach to incorporate lifestyle coaching, motivational interviewing, nutrition, and medication support with the goal of alleviating debilitating symptoms of mental illness. She respects that each person arrives with a unique set of life circumstances, cultural beliefs and value systems, and deserves a uniquely designed treatment plan that respects the individual’s own goals and abilities.
Angela is a native Arkansan and has lived in the Central Arkansas area most of her life. She has two adult children, and enjoys spending time with family, hiking, taking in the scenic outdoors, reading, and traveling. After working over a decade with patients suffering major burn injuries, she continues to stay involved by volunteering at survivor retreats, camps, and fundraising. She also volunteers in community outreach through her local church City Serve group.
