Healing for Your Mind, Body, and Spirit
At Conway Counseling & Wellness Center, we know that healing goes deeper than just addressing the mind. Emotional pain often manifests physically, and sometimes, words alone aren’t enough to express or heal what you’re going through. That’s why we offer a holistic approach to therapy. Our services include Art Therapy, Yoga Therapy, and Massage Therapy, each designed to help you reconnect with yourself—emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Our philosophy focuses on the whole body and mind’s health. Our wellness services are designed to help improve mental well-being through physical therapies, including yoga and massage therapy. We also help clients with chronic pain and its effects on physical and mental health with wellness services.
Our Wellness Services
We know that every individual’s path to wellness is unique. Some find release in movement, others through the soothing touch of massage, and still others by creating art that speaks when words cannot. Whatever your journey looks like, we’re here to meet you where you are and provide the support you need to heal, grow, and rediscover your balance.
Yoga for Addictions, Trauma, and Chronic Pain
We offer yoga as a complement to our psychotherapy services that focus on gentle, restorative movements designed to help with anxiety, depression, and high stress levels. Therapeutic yoga is offered as part of a six-week clinic focused on improving physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. During the clinic, we explore our emotional connections to our beings and what we can do to improve our lives and situations. We will focus on action steps our participants can use outside of class to continue improvement and concentrate on a specific topic in self-care.
For trauma survivors, yoga serves to build trust and a mindful, positive relationship with survivors’ bodies and beings. After a trauma, many survivors experience feelings of betrayal from their bodies with the belief that their bodies failed to get them to safety and are causing unfair and excessive pain. Therapeutic yoga for trauma focuses on reestablishing trust through mindfulness, deep breathing, and gentle yoga exercises.
Art Therapy
Art therapy can be used to treat psychological disorders by accessing centers in the brain, where crisis often makes emotions inaccessible by language. Art therapy uses the creative process of art-making to gain a greater understanding and awareness of yourself, your relationship with others, and your ability to cope, problem-solve, and learn how to better attain your hopes and dreams. It can be beneficial in lowering stress levels, increasing quality of life, and reducing anxiety.
We will help you shift your mind away from overwhelming worries, allowing you to focus on the present moment, which can be a powerful tool for managing stress. For individuals struggling with emotional regulation—whether due to anxiety, depression, or trauma—Art Therapy can provide a structured and creative outlet for processing and expressing difficult feelings.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy holds immense benefits for chronic pain, physical tension, and reducing stress.
Chronic pain, whether caused by injury, trauma, or stress, can significantly impact your quality of life and negatively affect your mental health. Also, stress and trauma often manifest physically, especially in areas like the neck, shoulders, and back. Over time, this tension can accumulate, leading to headaches, back pain, and other physical ailments. Massage therapy releases these tight, overworked muscles, reducing pain and improving mobility. By increasing circulation and encouraging the flow of oxygen and nutrients to sore areas, massage helps the body heal itself naturally.
Living with physical pain can cause your mental health to suffer. If you are suffering from chronic pain, you are more prone to anxiety and depression. Our physical and mental health are interconnected, so when we improve one, the other also improves. At Conway Counseling & Wellness Center, we offer both physical and mental relief in counseling sessions and massage therapy, which can calm the mind, reduce anxiety, elevate your mood, and release stored tension and pain.
