Individualized Yoga Therapy
One-on-one, yoga-informed therapy with licensed counselors in Conway, Arkansas.

Yoga Therapy That Works Alongside Counseling
At Conway Counseling & Wellness Center, individualized yoga therapy is a one-on-one session with a licensed therapist who is also a certified yoga instructor. We offer yoga therapy in Conway, Arkansas as a way to work with the connection between mind and body, using breathwork, gentle movement, mindfulness, and body awareness to support emotional regulation and reduce stress.
Every session is trauma-informed and built around your goals and comfort level. Clients use yoga therapy to work through stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma, and to better understand physical tension or discomfort that may be tied to what they are carrying emotionally.
How Individualized Yoga Is Different
This is not a group class or a fitness program. Each session is led by a licensed therapist and designed for you alone, so there are no poses to master and no one to keep up with. You do not need yoga experience, flexibility, or special equipment. Because it is a clinical session tailored to your treatment goals, it is billed the same way as other therapy sessions.
Meet Our Yoga Therapists
Three therapists on our team offer individualized yoga therapy, each with their own training and approach.
Amber Smith, LPC, EMDR-II, TCYM-II
Amber is a compassionate, trauma-informed therapist and certified Trauma Conscious Yoga Method™ (TCYM) practitioner who believes healing involves the whole person: mind, body, emotions, nervous system, and lived experience.
TCYM is different from traditional yoga. It is not about fitness, flexibility, or perfect poses. Instead, it uses gentle movement, breath, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to explore the mind-body connection and cultivate greater safety, choice, and connection within the body.
Her work is informed by polyvagal theory and a curiosity about what our bodies may be communicating. Amber invites clients to become curious about tension, discomfort, or unexplained pain, and to explore how stress, emotions, nervous system responses, and lived experiences may influence how they experience their bodies. Through mindful movement and awareness, there may be opportunities to release tension or nervous system activation and develop a different relationship with the body.
TCYM is a complement to therapy, not a replacement for it. By bringing together talk therapy and body-based practices, Amber creates space for a more integrated approach to healing, grounded in curiosity, empowerment, choice, and self-compassion.

Chelsea Farrar, LPC
As a mental health therapist and certified yoga teacher, Chelsea integrates yoga-informed practices into therapy to support the connection between mind and body. She uses principles of mindfulness, breathwork, gentle movement, and body awareness to help clients develop greater emotional regulation and reduce stress. These practices are offered in a way that is accessible, trauma-informed, and tailored to each person’s comfort level and therapeutic goals.
Tracie Wells, LPC, SEP
Tracie sees this as an exciting time in psychology and medicine, as modern neuroscience and biological research validate many ancient practices as legitimate and powerful medicine. Yoga is one of those practices. For over three thousand years, yoga has helped people recognize and work with their inner and outer worlds more skillfully.
With a focus on building a resourced and resilient nervous system, Tracie brings gentle yoga-based tools into therapy sessions, including simple breathing techniques, easy movement, and mindfulness. This isn’t a yoga class. Most of the work happens from a seated position in a chair, with no mat, no special clothing, and no flexibility or experience required.

Our Process
Initial Consultation
Your first session is a conversation with a licensed clinician about your concerns, your goals, and your comfort level with movement. From there, we build a care plan that fits you.
Individualized Sessions
Each session is one-on-one with your therapist and adjusted to where you are that day. You set the pace, and every practice is offered as an invitation, never a requirement.
Working Alongside Your Current Therapy
If you already see a counselor, you can add yoga therapy without replacing your existing care. Many clients see one provider for talk therapy and another for a specialized approach such as yoga therapy or EMDR.
Progress and Ongoing Support
Your therapist checks in on your progress, adjusts your plan as your goals change, and shares simple practices you can use between sessions.
