Heath specializes in Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy with extensive experience in depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and abuse, aging, substance abuse, chronic pain, adoption/foster care, behavioral disorders, and children and family therapy.
Embracing an honest and straightforward approach to therapy, Heath does not go into sessions with strict plans in place, but rather, seeks assistance from his clients to explore and develop a plan they feel works best for them.
Heath strongly believes in taking the time to build a strong therapeutic relationship with clients and using that to develop realistic, achievable plans of recovery, with the ultimate goal of assisting the individual in essentially becoming their own therapist.
Heath graduated from Williams Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and earned his Masters in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
What would I say to someone considering therapy or counseling for the first time?
One of the first hurdles in getting help is admitting that sometimes you need assistance in getting there.
